Vicky Taylor Update

Our dear friend, leader and founder of Free Range Chicks, Vicky Taylor went home to be with jesus-holding-girlJesus, whom she loved, just a few days ago. As many of you will know, Vicky was only recently diagnosed with lung cancer and had been in hospital receiving treatment when she was called home.

Vicky remains the most inspirational woman of God we have ever met. It is our privilege to have known her deep spirited love and friendship.  She exuded joy, love for Jesus and a zest for life that was truly contagious. Vicky loved people.  People mattered to Vicky because they mattered to God. Women especially mattered to her. When she heard their cries, some years ago in a dream God gave her, she was compelled to respond. Cries of shame, sorrow and desperation. Vicky began pursuing these women, looking for ways they could be reached with God’s message of hope in Jesus. As a result, Free Range Chicks was born and has grown into a network of women who are now reaching out to a hurting generation. Countless lives have already been restored and transformed by her words, wisdom and love. Indeed, many have come to know Jesus as Lord in their own lives because of her faithfulness.

There is so much more we can say about Vicky, but, for now, what matters most is those she has left behind. Our prayers are now for her beloved husband Alistair and her children Abi, Luke, Jon and Sam whom she championed and delighted in; as well as her dear parents, sisters, nieces, nephews, and friends. We pray that they will know God’s closeness, strength and peace in the difficult days, months and years that lie ahead.

Though we are heart broken by the loss of our dear friend, we thank God for Vicky Taylor and the extraordinary legacy she leaves.

Safe in the arms of Jesus.
