Conference 2015 – Restore

The 21st and 22nd November saw the Annual National Conference of Free Range Chicks; the first since our founder, the wonderful Vicky Taylor went to be with Jesus.S0559597

It was a blessed weekend. Though missed by many of us, I don’t think those who hadn’t met Vicky felt she was missing from the Conference. Vicky always made sure that God was at the centre of what we do and the team and amazing speakers did the

same, so The Father was very present for many of us and we were encouraged and empowered and restored just as Vicky had intended us to be when she and the team got together at the beginning of 2015 to prayerfully consider the focus of this year’s conference.

Tania Bright (Author of ‘Don’t Beat Yourself Up’ and Spring Harvest speaker), Debbie Bullock (Author and Church Planter), Cathy Madavan (Author of ‘Digging for Diamonds’ and Spring Harvest speaker and Dr Shelley Jodrell (GP) all gave anointed talks with a central theme of allowing God to rebuild us by accepting ourselves, inclusions and all, and acting as God intends us to act by ministering to suffering humanity in all it’s guises. There was a strong sense of urgency and, more than once, the question came up to challenge us: ‘What are you going to do with your one wild and precious life?’

There was a chance to be creative with Vicky Warnes who showed us how to recycle old jumpers into beautiful Christmas decorations and an incredibly Spirit-filled prayer soaking. Opportunities were taken by many to enjoy the Spa, walk or run through the beautiful country and just relax and unwind in the welcoming atmosphere of the hotel.DSCF9447

Saturday night’s lovely meal, fun games, Cathy’s great after-dinner talk and dancing was a highlight for many, followed the next morning by a delicious breakfast and the final session allowing us to sing together in worship, listen to a final rallying cry by Tania to continue the cycle of Repair, Rebuild and Restore, and an opportunity for each of us to focus on the areas God is talking to us about right now.

The feedback was overwhelmingly positive and many thanks go to Beth and her amazing team for a Conference to remember. I think we’re all looking forward to next year already!

If anyone would like downloads of any of the talks, please get in touch and we’ll see what we can do.
