Time to Shine National Conference Report

The FRC conference 2018 once again took place in Brandon Hall near Coventry in November. This year the theme was ‘Time to Shine’.

The team pulled out all the stops in making the conference room look beautiful, and gifts and personalised prayer cards were time to shinegiven to arriving chicks. Throughout the conference we had the opportunity to browse the wonderfully diverse Christian Gift Company stall, as well as some other artists’ work.

Our guest speaker was Vanessa Richardson, who told us about how she came to know Jesus,  and the impact He has had on her life and her ministry of music and worship leading. She also led a seminar after lunch on Worship as Warfare, and we had seminars from Sarah on Shining with God`s light, and Beth on Food and Hospitality.  For those who felt the need to use up some calories from the amazing lunch, there was a walk around the local villages, and the chance to use the Hotel’s spa facilities. For those who didn`t, we enjoyed a prayer soaking session, or some pampering, with nails painted and hair styled ready for the evening banquet.

After a  delicious 3-course dinner, and finding out which of the chicks were ‘besties’ in our game, Lisa spoke about living in the truth of who we are each called to be… which led straight into a team flash mob, dancing to “This is Me” from the Greatest Showman (complete with beard and top hats!). The dance floor then filled up for the rest of the night!

Sore feet didn’t prevent everyone meeting up on Sunday morning, to hear Pearl speaktime to shine 2 about Metamorphosis,  and how we can adapt to different situations that God has placed us in. Jess led us in worship, and Jo united us in celebrating Communion and the 2-minute silence for Remembrance Day, with the opportunity for individual prayer and crafts throughout the session and our ever popular 10 minute testimonies before lunch.

It was a lovely weekend, with the opportunity to catch up with old friends and to make many new ones, all while celebrating each other and the God who loves us all!
