Bloom Where You’re Planted conference report

‘I had a mind-blowing, soul-stirring, hope-giving time at the Bloom Where You’re Planted weekend, God spoke life into me through so many special sisters, just when I desperately needed it.’

The FRC conference 2019 was held in the beautiful Oxford Spires hotel in November. This year the theme was ‘Bloom Where You’re Planted.Bloom where you're planted

The team pulled out all the stops in making the conference room look beautiful, and gift bags and personalised prayer cards were
given to the 75 guests. Throughout the conference, we had the opportunity to browse the wonderfully diverse Christian Gift Company stall, as well as artwork and books created by some of the chicks.

Our fabulous guest speaker was Louise Davies, who told us the amazing story of how God called her out of church leadership and into the Houses of Parliament. A brilliant storyteller, we were laughing one moment and b
ing challenged the next.

We had a variety of ‘Bloom’ related workshops, including crafts, discussions, prayer and resting in God’s presence. There was also plenty of time to enjoy the spa, or have a wander into Oxford.

Following the funBloom dinner and games at our evening dinner dance, and after an absolutely delicious 3-course meal, Fiona shared her inspirational story of how her faith helped her with a cancer diagnosis earlier this year. As always, we then danced the night away.

Sunday morning, following an outstanding range of breakfast options, we gathered again with sung worship lead beautifully by Emma and Hannah, and another brilliant talk from Lou. The morning also included sharing communion together, a chance to reflect on the weekend through crafts and the opportunity to hear from various chicks about how God had spoken to them and blessed them during our time together. We also had a Dignity Fund update, including hearing how the Fund has enabled Jude to launch the Life Designs Hope campaign.

It was an incrediblBloome weekend, God was working in countless ways in the lives of the women who came, and as always there was a tangible sense of love as old friends gathered and new ones were made.

A huge thank you to Lisa, Fran and the rest of the team for stepping out and taking on the challenge of organising the conference. We can’t wait to be back together again next year!
