Reaching Out Locally Using Seasons of the Year

January – New beginnings – Offering counselling and coaching for marriages, debt relief, life coaching.

February – The Love month – Give out chocolate hearts or cookies on the street or in the neighbourhood. Offer a free babysitting service for couples to go out, Valentines dinner with Love focus speaker. Promote Love language books and start parenting classes with a seeker edge.

March – Mothers day – Spring – free gardening for those who are unable to do it, cleaning windows, pampering days for the single mums with great creche and children’s facilities. Give out daffodils in the Town Centre.

April – Easter – Give out Easter eggs , Hot cross buns and Fairtrade Chocolate. Easter egg hunt ending with a cross and the message of Hope on it. Craft mornings and Easter holiday clubs. Prayer on the doors for the elderly.

May – BBQ time. Invite neighbours for BBQ. Give out cakes, arrange sporting/community activities ie walk, football competition, treasure hunt, Eurovision song night.

June -Celebrate by doing activities in the long evenings- outdoor tea party, cream teas, tennis, BBQ, pool parties, social events for the neighbourhood, Teddy Bear picnic.

July/August – Holiday clubs, specially outings to the sea for those unable to take a holiday, picnic and games in the Park, bike rides, tennis and rounders and cricket.

September – Give away food to the poor as a Harvest gesture, Variety show or talent evening, fashion shows or Beetle drive , Tea dances or a Harvest Ball.Time for reaping, developing world focus.

October – Half term holiday club, Light party instead of Halloween, a colour me beautiful evening, pampering time, exercise night, Abba night

November – Crafts evening, hand out bulbs for those in need of hope, prayer on the door, remember those who have died for good causes, bereavement coaching and support.

December – Christmas Party for children, Pantomime, Christmas cracker give away with Christian verse instead like the original, OAP parties with the young people and with a little show. Carol singing around the neighbourhood blessing them with a small chocolates or gift.
